Guidelines and rules as of the 1st of June

The LTA have issued detailed guidelines that apply to both tennis and padel and we would ask that you visit  and take note of their recommendations. LTA guidelines

In summary the following conditions also apply to our court;-

  • Doubles is now permitted from people outside your household as long as you are confident you can maintain a 2m distance between players

  • If other players are on the court before you please enter the court through the left hand gate and leave through the right hand gate

  • Try to leave a short interval between players from different groups

  • The pavilion is out of bounds unless there is an emergency requiring the toilet or washing facilities, there is however a first aid box on the outside of the pavilion

  • Players do not now need to use their own clearly marked tennis balls –however, if you choose to use shared balls then extra care must be taken to ensure you do not touch your face during play, and you should clean your hands before play and immediately after finishing (use alcohol gel if required)

  • Try to avoid touching the court walls

  • It is best to use your own equipment but racket sharing is allowed, providing they are sanitised before and after use.  The club however currently have no rackets available for use due to purchases and suppliers not being fully operational.

  • It goes without saying, if you're showing any signs of the virus, you must not play, cancel your court, if its too late to cancel, let us know and we'll refund the court fee. Do not play if you are self-isolating.

Group coaching is now permissible but limited to 6 per group (including coach).  Where attendance of a parent/guardian (non-participant) is required, or a carer for a disabled player, it is permitted and is not counted as part of the maximum group size of six, but should be off court and limited to one per player where possible, with social distancing strictly observed while watching the sessions.

Coaching cost £25 per hour including court fee.  Cost split between all participants.

If a coaching session appeals please email or call Jon directly on jonfoster383foster@btinternet.com or 07748 658276.

If you have any queries relating to the above please contact Jon Foster or Chris Herridge.
